 | Qty=1Size=750 ml, RP[90-92]"The Volnay Clos Du Chateau Des Ducs is medium-to-dark ruby-colored and offers a delightful nose of plums, roses, violets, and red cherries. It is oily-textured, medium-to-full-bodied, elegant, hedonistically plump and fat (what the French call gras), and filled with layers of creamy cherries. This wine is an amalgamation of sultriness and refinement, almost as if it were a vinous cross of Raquel Welch and Audrey Hepburn. Its persistent finish coats the mouth with loads of sweet fruits and super-supple tannins. It should be at its peak between 2002 and 2007. The score, on a range and in parentheses, indicates that the wine was tasted from barrel." - Pierre Rovani, robertparker.com (Apr 29, 1998) |
